How do I correct an error on my tax document?
Minor errors on your tax document, such as a missing middle initial, generally don't require a corrected form. You can simply file your taxes with your correct information and your existing Form 1099-B.
To update information relating to your identity, such as your legal name, SSN, or residential address, you will need to contact [email protected] from your email address linked to your Strike account and request a change. If you believe there's a transaction discrepancy in your Form 1099-B, our support team is available to assist. Please contact [email protected] from the email address linked to your Strike account, explaining the discrepancy that needs correction. Our support team will work to resolve the issue quickly, however, in some cases we may ask you to provide supporting documentation via a secure link.
After reviewing your correction request, we’ll issue a Corrected 1099-B if necessary. If the correction occurs before the tax filing deadline, your Form 1099-B will be replaced with a corrected version. However, if the correction happens after the tax filing deadline, you’ll receive a “Corrected 1099-B”, which will be available in the Strike app alongside your original, unedited Form 1099-B.
