When can I send my bitcoin?

The availability date for sending your bitcoin depends on the cash deposit method you used.

When you deposit cash using ACH (Automated Clearing House), that deposit can take about 5 business days to actually arrive and settle in your Strike account. During this time, the funds are pending and can be used for trading bitcoin but not for sending or withdrawing. Once the deposit is complete, the funds will be fully available to send or withdraw.

For example, using an ACH deposit to buy bitcoin might follow a sequence such as this:

  • Monday: You initiate a deposit and immediately buy bitcoin on Strike using the pending funds
  • Tuesday: The debit transaction appears in your bank transaction activity
  • Friday: The deposit is completed and your bitcoin becomes fully available to send and withdraw

This delay ensures that the bank has successfully sent your deposit into your Strike account, protecting both Strike and its customers from potential deposit fraud. ACH deposits typically take about 5 business days to complete, not including holidays and weekends.

If you need to send or withdraw funds faster, you can use other deposit methods, such as wire transfers, debit cards, or direct deposits. These deposit methods are fully available to send and withdraw when they arrive in your Strike account.

Strike also has a special service called Strike Instant for loyal customers that provides advanced access to send, spend, and withdraw funds that are still pending bank deposit availability. Read more about the available deposit methods or the details regarding your available and pending balances.
