---

A beneficiary plan lets you name who receives any remaining assets in your account if you pass away. If a loan or line of credit remains open after your death, it must be paid in full and closed before the collateral is returned to the bitcoin balance and can be transferred to a beneficiary.

US personal accounts and sole proprietorships, except those in Louisiana, can create a plan in a few minutes:

1. Add up to 15 beneficiaries:
    - If adding a **spouse or non-spouse**, you must provide relationship type, full name, and date of birth. Email, phone number, and address are optional, and they help Strike get in touch.
    - If adding a **trust**, you’ll need to provide the trust’s name, its date of creation, and contact details for one trustee, including full name, email, and phone number.
2. Allocate a <CirclePlusIcon /> <CircleMinusIcon /> percentage of your assets to each beneficiary, totaling 100%.
3. Confirm and sign the beneficiary agreement to put the plan into effect.

Strike uses **per capita distribution**. If a beneficiary passes away before you, Strike divides their share equally among the named beneficiaries who outlive you. It’s not currently possible to set contingent beneficiaries, so name everyone you want to inherit on the plan itself.

## How to edit or void a beneficiary plan

An active plan can be edited or voided at any time. You can remove an existing beneficiary, or adjust allocations. Removing the last remaining beneficiary prompts you to void the entire plan.

## How to download your beneficiary plan

Access active and voided agreements under <DocumentIcon /> “Documents” or <FramedKeyIcon /> “Beneficiary plan”, and share with an estate planner, an executor, or your beneficiaries.
