# How do I pay bills?

Individuals and businesses in the US, except in Hawaii, can go to <UserIcon /> “Account” on the [mobile](https://links.strike.me/live-app) or [web app](https://dashboard.strike.me/account) and tap <WalletIcon /> “Bill pay” to get banking details. Enter the account and routing numbers into your biller’s payment system the same way you’d add a bank account. If the biller asks for an account type, choose “Checking”.

Just as you can link a bank to any biller that uses Plaid, you can link your Strike account too. **When linking a payment method via Plaid in third-party apps, search for “Strike”** and select it from the list of institutions.

You can use Strike with unlimited billers and pay as many bills as you want. A single bill can be up to $95,000.

## How to choose your bill payment methods

You can switch your default payment source at any time among cash balance, [line of credit](/support/how-do-i-draw-from-my-line-of-credit), or bitcoin balance. If you choose the latter, Strike sells enough bitcoin to cover the bill, charges [trading fees](/support/what-are-the-trading-fees), and adds the transaction to your [upcoming tax form](/support/when-will-i-receive-my-tax-form).

Strike tries your default balance first. If it falls short, Strike automatically draws on your other balance to cover the rest. If your default is cash and cash runs low, for example, Strike may sell just enough bitcoin to finish the payment. To **keep your balance funded**, keep in mind:

- A [recurring bitcoin purchase](/support/how-do-i-schedule-recurring-purchases) can run before a bill arrives, lowering your cash balance and possibly forcing a bitcoin sale to cover the bill.
- A [bitcoin auto-withdrawal](/support/how-do-i-withdraw-bitcoin#how-to-set-up-automatic-withdrawals) can move bitcoin to self-custody once it reaches your threshold, leaving too little for bills.
- A recent bank deposit can take up to 5 business days to arrive, and Strike counts only your [available balance](/support/what-are-my-available-and-pending-balances), not pending deposits or funds reserved for [target orders](/support/how-do-i-set-target-orders), so a bill charged in that window can fail.
- A bitcoin price drop can reduce the dollar value of your balance or reduce your [available credit](/support/how-do-i-increase-my-credit-line).

Some billers send a small micro-charge to confirm your account before they set up recurring payments. Micro-charges can take a few moments to arrive and are processed only on business days. **Any micro-charge or bill under $2 comes out of your cash balance, even when your default is bitcoin.** If you have no cash, a charge under $2 can temporarily make your cash balance negative, and a cash deposit clears it.
