A stack is a named portion of your bitcoin, set apart inside your Strike account for a goal or purpose. Move bitcoin in to keep it aside, and move it back to your “Bitcoin balance” when you want to send, withdraw, or spend it.
Moving bitcoin into a stack doesn’t change how much bitcoin you hold on Strike. It stays in the same custody as the rest of your bitcoin, and a stack is part of your one account, not a separate account, wallet, or Bitcoin address. Stacks hold bitcoin only, and cash stays in your cash balance.
How to create a stack
Find and create your stacks below the balance on the “bitcoin” tab of the home screen in the mobile app, and beside the price chart on the web dashboard home.
You can have up to 5 stacks open at once. Each needs a name that is different from your other open stacks. To rename one later, open it and tap “Edit stack”.
How to transfer bitcoin in and out of a stack
A new stack starts empty. To buy in, tap “Trade” on the stack. To move bitcoin, open a stack and tap “Transfer”, then pick the source and destination and enter an amount. You can move between your bitcoin balance and a stack, or directly from one stack to another. Transfers have no fees and no limits.
To send or withdraw bitcoin that’s in a stack, transfer it back to your bitcoin balance first. Everything you receive or deposit lands in your bitcoin or cash balance, never directly in a stack.
How to check your total balance in and out of stacks
The balance at the top of the bitcoin tab excludes stacks, so it shows what you can send. Funding a stack lowers that number without lowering what you hold.
Tap “Bitcoin balance” below the amount to open a breakdown: your bitcoin balance, each stack by name, and “Total held on Strike”.
How to close a stack
To close a stack, open it and tap “Close stack”. You don’t need to empty it or cancel its purchases first. Closing returns any funds to your bitcoin balance and cancels any recurring purchases pointed at that stack. A purchase already under way when you close lands in your bitcoin balance. Closing is permanent, but you can create a new stack with the same name as a closed one.
